This technique has been preserved for the heavy snowfall in the area..

It is a braided craft using plants, such as hiroro, wild grapes, and silver vines taken from the mountainous area as a handicraft during snowy time.
They have kept making baskets and strainers for daily use.
Oku Aizu braided craft is designated as traditional crafts by the national government in 2003, and its history dates back to the Jomon Period.
Technology of daily life has been succeeded from parents to children and grandchildren. It is now used in a production area of Oku Aizu braided crafts.
The craft inherits the Jomon culture, attracting many fans.
