A large high layer marsh where valuable plants are growing.

This is a national park a number of alpine plants are inhabiting over 4prefectures including Fukushima, Niigata, Tochigi and Gunma.
With Hijirigadake in Hinoemata Village as a peak, it consists of Ozegahara and Oze Pond spreading over the boundary of Fukushima and Gunma.
In 2005, it was registered as a wetland of Ramsar Convention that aims to protect habitat of waterfowls.
